Yesterday, my blood test revealed my platelet levels had dropped to 35,000. They have declined steadily for six weeks from a high of 117,000 (normal is 150,000 - 400,000). At this point, the doctor in charge of the clinical trial ordered a bone marrow biopsy. I've just come home from the hospital where I had it done. They are checking to see if this is an early sign of a relapse. We are hoping its a side effect of the experimental drug I'm on. It is listed among the 20 or so likely side effects of the drug...but they want to make sure it's not a relapse.
Now the waiting begins. The results should be available next week. We have our fingers crossed. Life goes on, I'm about to go out and check my tomato plants. They are getting tall and we've started eating cherry tomatoes. The waiting game will have to wait.

Catching some rays
That's a 6 kilowatt photovoltaic array...produces enough electricity for a small city...well, how about 3 houses...or one house and 12,000 miles of driving in a plug-in electric car. And, it IS in our backyard!! Yesterday was the big day. The solar company flipped a few breakers and the thing started to orient itself using GPS. After an hour of calibrating, it was tracking the path of the sun and optimizing its angle to maximize solar production.
